Stand Publishers is a new publishing
house focusing on serious nonfiction for the general reader. As always, one must
start at the beginning. This means that at this point we have one book under our
belt, the first; the first of many. To get us off to a great start, this first book is an important one. It is on an important topic. It is serious science. It is readable. It is humorous. It is thought-provoking. It will help bring about significant change. What more could any publisher ask for? The answer, of course, is more. We will emphasize books on science, health/medicine, international relations, biography, government/politics, psychology, religion, education and the social sciences. We will not shy away from controversial issues. It is hoped that we will be able to publish two to four new titles near the end of the year. The following year should find us with about twenty more titles. These are ambitious targets but we feel they are realistic. In addition, before the end of the year we will bring out a series of e-books. They will be followed as quickly as possible in paperback editions. The order will be determined by their popularity in the e-book format. |
